The final script shows Sandra being particularly subdued on a
day of general rejoicing, the day of the first open elections
in South African history – what impact does that have
on you?
In a film about skin and skin tones – what is the impact of such an early scene set in a cosmetics factory? (Incidentally, this is not a clever invented idea – Sandra did work on-and-off in just such a factory in Vanda near Johannesburg from the late 1980s and the early 1990s)
