Big it up!
Snow White couldn’t be more different from her nemesis, the Evil Queen. When comparing two very different people or things, we might use adjectives, antonyms (or opposites: for example, 'Snow White is kind; the Evil Queen is mean') and superlatives (adjectives that usually end in -est, like the word 'fairest' - for example, 'the Evil Queen is fair of face, but Snow White is the fairest of them all').
This activity asks you to compare the two main characters of the film Mirror Mirror: the Evil Queen and Snow White. Watch the trailer, then write comparison sentences that include antonyms and superlatives. Each sentence that you write:-
- include an adjective (a describing word)
- include an antonym (a word that describes the opposite of something - e.g. the antonym of 'cold' is 'hot')
- include a superlative (a word that describes someone or something beyond anything else - e.g. the superlative of 'fair' is 'fairest')
After you have done this, watch the trailer once more and write comparative sentences about the two characters using the following superlative prompts:
- happiest
- bitterest
- nastiest
- vainest
- scariest
- bravest
- cruelest
- cleverest
- bossiest
- swankiest
- feistiest
- boldest
- angriest
- fairest
