Filming
Once the drawings are ready, they are prepared for filming. Traditionally, this involves each drawing being transferred from paper to a thin clear sheet of plastic called a 'cel'. Advances in technology have meant that the animators' drawings can be scanned into a computer where they can be coloured and processed.
In The Princess and the Frog, more than one colour palette is used on individual characters and setting shots – to add depth and mood.
