One of the consequences of your seeing and studying SKIN is that it may inspire you to want to learn more about the science behind the story since Sandra Laing’s appearance was ultimately an accident of genetics.

Sandra was born just two years after one of the most profound breakthroughs of modern science – namely Francis Crick and James Watson’s success in creating a model of the double helix structure of DNA. This was the spiral-staircase-like structure contained within the chromosomes of cell nuclei in which the rungs are formed of four paired and linked nucleotides.
