What attracted you to working on Shifty?
Rory: What really attracted both of us to the script was that it was incredibly real, the characters' dialogue just jumped off the page. It felt like you knew these people straight away and that's what people have said about the film who has seen the final product. They engaged with it straight away.
You're not saying ‘This is what kids on the streets are like'. It's from Eran's own experiences and this really is what kids on the streets are like. This is how they talk and this is what they're interested in and this immediately came across because you could tell he was writing from his own experiences, he things around him, his childhood and writing what he knew.
