Exotic Europe
Event Information
The Past in the Present
Exotic Europe was part of a season of inaugural events marking the opening of Europe House, the new home of both the European Parliament and the European Commission in the UK.
Date: Wednesday 8 December 2010
Venue: Europe House, London
This event saw the screening of a selection of specially restored archive footage portraying Europe before the First World War accompanied by a number of short films made by students of the London Film School in response to this footage. In addition to the screening the schools that attended heard from representatives from the Cinema Museum and the London International Documentary Festival about archive and documentary film and were able to partake in a discussion with the London Film School filmmakers.
The event was jointly coordinated by the London Film School, The Cinema Museum, London International Documentary Festival and Film Education and supported by the European Commission in the UK.
